‘Viscosity’ is a property of a fluid.
It refers to the resistance of a substance to flow:
water has a low viscosity, and flows quickly and easily; but,
honey has a high viscosity, and flows slowly.
Viscosity is sometimes described as a fluid’s ‘thickness’.
Viscosity of a fluid is measured in units of pascal seconds (Pa s), or newton seconds per square metre (Ns/m2).
